HFO 1234yf is an environmentally friendly alternative to R134a. The designation HFO stands for the fluorine compound „Hydro fluoride-olefin“. The temperature and pressure properties are comparable with R134a. Before this refrigerant can be used in new systems or for the conversion of existing systems the conformance to the European Union safety directives must be ensured.
„ATEX“ (from the French „Atmosphère Explosive“) currently consists of two directives for explosion protection, the ATEX-product directive 94/9/EG and the ATEX-protection directive 1999/92/EG.
